From Scan to Restoration — The SLM Process
Every Cube Dental restoration follows the same eight-step digital workflow — from file upload to final delivery. SLM (Selective Laser Melting) technology at every stage means no casting variability, no manual guesswork. Just precise, repeatable results.
Step 1 ·
Upload Data
Submit your digital scan files via WeTransfer, Google Drive, or Dropbox.
Step 2 ·
Place Order
Complete the case submission form with case type and turnaround preference.
Step 3 ·
Design
Our technicians digitally design the framework or restoration to your prescription specs.
Step 4 ·
Positioning & Slicing
The digital model is oriented and sliced to optimize SLM print parameters.
Step 5 ·
3D Printing
CoCr powder is laser-sintered layer by layer using our SLM system.
Step 6 ·
Grinding & Polishing
Each restoration is finished to surface specification and inspected for fit.
Step 7 ·
Quality Inspection
Every case passes dimensional and visual QC before leaving the lab.
Step 8 ·
Pick up & Shipping
Pickup available at our Mississauga lab, or shipped directly to your clinic.
Why SLM Over Traditional Casting?
Conventional CoCr casting relies on wax burnout, manual investment, and heat-based pouring — each step introducing variability. SLM eliminates this entirely. The result is a denser, more homogeneous alloy structure with tighter dimensional tolerances on every case.
